Roberto Burle Marx, was born in Sao Paolo, Brazil in 1909 and was considered a pioneer in landscape architecture. He helped spearhead the conservation of Brazil’s native plants and provided recreational areas in heavily populated areas, deliberately moving away from the idea of French architectural landscapes.
