Reading the Easel Book Club
If you love reading and art, you’ll want to be part of an always lively conversation about books about the world of art. This month’s selection poses a fascinating connection between artistic creativity and evolutionary science. In The Art Instinct: Beauty, Pleasure, and Human Evolution, philosopher Denis Dutton argues that the desire for and response to art is innate, and shares universal traits tied to evolutionary development. Light refreshments will be served. This program is free to Members and $10 for Non-Members. For more information or to register please call Elisabeth Sommer, Museum Education Curator at (915) 212-3056.
