History on the Run: A Walking Tour Following the Motorist Green Book of El Paso
Sunday, February 11, 2-3 p.m.
Museum staff will lead a walking tour through Downtown El Paso to explore some of the locations that were listed in the Green Book.
The Green Book was written by Victor H. Green, a postal worker from Harlem, New York. Green used his own experience and knowledge from his fellow postal workers to write the guide that provided travelers a state by state directory of businesses that would serve African Americans. The Green Book was published from 1936-1966.
For more information or to reserve your space on the tour, please contact the El Paso Museum of History at 212-0320. Please reserve your spot by February 9. The tour is $5 for members and $10 for not-yet members.
