There are many opportunities available for artists of all disciplines within our department from funding for events and artists to performance opportunities for musicians and dancers. MCAD will periodically have opportunities for people to work with the department as volunteers, docents or teaching artists. Please check back often as many of these opportunities will have deadline applications.
MUSIC UNDER THE STARS
The application period for MCAD's summer concert series, Music Under the Stars, is now open. MCAD is now accepting applications from LOCAL musicians for MUTS. The application period will be open March 11 - March 25. The deadline to submit applications is 6 p.m. MST March 25. Late or incomplete submissions will not be considered. All applications should be submitted via the online application process. Interested musicians will be able to complete their application and submit samples of their work at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MUTS19
Public Art Calls for artists
Railroad Drive Reconstruction Public Art Project
This public art project will commission an artist(s) to design and develop a public art piece/pieces within the Railroad Reconstruction Project which can be interactive/functional depending on site selection. The project will provide the opportunity for the artist to fully engage with the community in developing the concept and design of the artwork. The artist will collaborate with the selected Architect and Engineering Services team to create site specific public art. Application deadline is April 3, 2019.

CITY OF EL PASO ART WINDOWS - 2019-2020
The City of El Paso Museums and Cultural Affairs Department (MCAD) in collaboration with El Paso International Airport (EPIA) seek to establish a pool of artists or artist teams from the Greater El Paso area for consideration in upcoming exhibits for Art Windows. The Art Windows program will introduce artists to our community and provide them with valuable exposure and gallery space for temporary exhibitions. Art Windows provides an exhibit space for local artists to display their work for a three month period. The designated space is intended to showcase El Paso as an international cultural destination through high quality art and visual experiences. Application deadline is March 15, 2019.

The City of El Paso Allied Artist Program is to provide local artists the opportunity to assist experienced artists commissioned for major projects of $125,000 or more by the Public Art Program, in order to gain the technical and administrative expertise needed to compete within the field of public art. Allied Artists are matched up with commissioned artists based on their level of experience, artistic medium and general interests. Pre-qualified artists who are chosen for a specific project will be compensated for their service as an Allied Artist. Artists must re-apply every two years.
